Recommended Mods after Short Shifter/Torque Arm?

Well, I am finally going down the path of modding my MINI into a mean machine. Now I need to find out what would be my next big performance mod that is reasonable for cost. Accessport seems just a little expensive for the moment but if someone can clarify how much it will help and it's ease, I would reconsider.

Installed:
NM Torque Arm
NM Short Shifter

I just would like a little bit more boost and power after finally having firmer shifting.

There are bunches of threads on this topic, but here is a summary from my memory:

Exhaust and intake gains are in sound, not big HP. Generally single digit gains, if any.

FMIC can gain some HP, but generally it allows you to keep the HP that you have by not allowing the intake temps to rise during prolonged hard use. Boost tubes are a minimal gain as well.

I'm an AP fan, its really the only performance drivetrain mod that I've done. It's a decent bump in HP (supposedly 15-20), but gives a nice boost to the entire power curve and makes the car feel faster as well.

Water/Meth injection also has some performance gain potential, as well as the only mod mentioned here that can reduce carbon buildup in the intake ports. Its also fairly large $$.

There are also a bunch of threads on oil catch cans, which can help reduce carbon buildup as well. If your car has never had carbon cleaning, that may give you the best performance boost of any of the items mentioned here. The carbon builds up on the back of the valves and in the ports, limiting airflow into the engine. In extreme cases, it can cause durability problems with the engine, besides lost performance.

The AccessPORT is the best bang-for-buck modification out there.
Nothing in terms of money per gained horsepower / torque comes close.
It's well worth the dollar amount.

Axion, what year MCS do you have? If it's 2011+, the Accessport isn't an option. That said, the above advice is true. The only way to seriously increase performance is with a tune however you get it done. If you do have a 2011+ and want to crater your warranty early, NM will tune your ECU and I think Way has figured it out. The other parts and pieces will definitely help performance after the tune. Notice that I have added all of the various parts and pieces and am just waiting for a bit until I take the final plunge. The Dread Pirate does sound awesome though!!!
