Picking back and forth between options, a couple of questions?
Morning NAM
I have been going back and forth for a couple weeks now on MINIUSA building a new MCS. Adding and deleting options and trying to read many review on certain ones people have that they either love or say they shouldn't have got. Ive gone back and forth with what items I have on my current car which is a BMW.
On my build ive come down to this
Cold weather package - Heated seats are a must, I have them now and they help my back on long trips, The heated mirrors are a nice feature and the power folding is cool too.
Xenon headlamps - I added on my current car, I said from the time of retrofit I will just buy the next car with them because it was a lot of money and a hassle to get these to work in my car.
Auto dimming rear view mirror - convenient
Auto headlights/ rain sensing wipers - Again convenient, I added this feature in my current car as a challenge and ended up liking it actually.
I chose the clear signals since again I added those to my current car.
Rear fog light - The missing toggle switch would bother me.
Now as for the items im curious about?
1 - I opted for the comfort access, My cousins BMW has this and I liked it. I know the MINI has a button on the door handle to push unlike the BMW which doesn't and seems more refined. I mainly like the Idea of not having to put the key in the dash to start it. For people with the heated power folding mirrors and the comfort access, if you push and hold the button on the door handle to lock the car from the outside do the mirrors fold in as well? My cousins BMW does this and I was wondering if it did the same.
2 - I chose the JCW interior package. I wanted the anthracite headliner, and the DTC. I have read mixed review on the DTC but I live in a area with snow. Ive read it helps with snow but then again some of the threads were confusing because DTC was being confused with DSC. If the DTC is worth the added benefit in snow the I would get it since I will be driving in snow. Can anyone shed some light on this?
3 - I have the auto climate in my car now, I do like it but I was wondering how bad is the regular climate control n the MINI?
4 - I as of right now took the sunroof option out, I at first added it, having one in my car now I like it. I really tho don't use it much and haven't read many good review about the pano in the MINI. I wasn't too thrilled about the mesh type sun shade. I either want it open or closed and not a mix of some light and feel it doesn't help much.
5 - Adaptive headlight control - I live in the country, I do drive on back roads lots of wooded areas. Is it that much more beneficial with the xenon's?
