Alta suspension fine tuning?

I drive a Mini Cooper R50 1,6L petrol engine from 2006. It needed to be serviced. New Koni Sport Suspension Kit were installed.

Also, I upgraded rear sway bar with a 19mm Alta Performance. Same for rear & front endlinks from Alta. Rear control arms will be for later.

Is there any fine tuning to do or is it "plug & play"?

Thanks

id start with getting it all on and seeing how you feel.
and addressing whaever concerns you had with how it performs then.
Sounds like you have a solid start.

I had a quick drive yesterday and I find it a bit bouncy. No idea if this is normal.

Front stocks are fitted to the max. Rear sway bar is bolted on medium position.

Depends on what you mean by "bouncy." If you mean it seems like the springs keep oscillating, up the damping. If you mean it doesn't have much give over bumps, try softening the damping setting.

I do not mean this. It became firmer, stiffer.

I guess that's what I should do but how should one balance the car between front and rear shocks? Need to soften all shocks the same way or can one act more on front and less on rear shocks or vice versa?

ALTA Endlinks offer adjustability to overall length. This allows you, the end user, to control the amount of pre-load against the sway bar. Thus the wait time for the bar to respond can be nearly eliminated. Additionally on lowered vehicles you can help correct the static bar angle back to a stock orientation.

Rear endlinks should be adjusted so that with the car on the ground they just line up with the holes in the swaybar. Meaning no preload on the bar. EDIT: Start your bar on full soft, then see if you want to go stiffer.

Soften your shocks all around...IMO you'll be happy much closer to full soft. Try 1/2 turn from full soft front and rear.

Also, a 30mm drop is a lot for a MINI. The Konis are good shocks but there isn't much you can do since with a 30mm drop you are well onto the bumpstops before you hit a bump. I would cut them and/or use different springs. Swift or Tein H-tech are the only springs I recommend for the 1st gen.

I don't know about sway bar tuning since I have no experience with it so go with what Andrew said

I feel the same with about the damping, too. Try going nearly all the way soft. I don't know if you can adjust bound/rebound independently, but if you can, 1.5-2x rebound vs bound is a decent compromise between comfort and handling.
