Hi all. My next project should be a rather simple one. My plan is to rewire the step lights by using a fuse a tap so that they come on at the same time as the rest of the interior instrument lighting, instead of coming on when the doors open.

I have a just a couple questions

1) I can't decide on whether I would like to use amber colored LED's or red LED's. Amber would look nice because it would match the rest of the dash controls, but red would be easier on the eyes while driving. I am also nervous that if I purchase amber LED's they would end up being more yellow than amber and not match. Any suggestions?

2) Are the two step lights and the dome light wired in a series circuit so that I would only have to change the input into the first light socket in the series, or are they each individually powered?

3) Which fuse would you tap into so that the lights would only come one when the headlight switch is turned on?
