R50/53 MCS Insurance costs?
I never really bothered to check as I figured the insurance on an MCS would be fairly low (4 cyl, low cost), but as we're getting a little closer to purchase I thought I would ask. What are some ballpark figures? Are they classified as "Sports" cars?

I pay about $800 per year for my JCW here in Richmond, Virginia. Single, male, 30, homeowner, multi-car discount and good driving discount.
If anybody needs insurance, I highly recommend Nationwide!

How much did everyone's insurance go down when they got married? What about when they turned 24?
The reason I ask is because I'll be married in about a year and 24 in a year and a half. I'm also a prospective MCS owner. Hopefully, I'll have mine sometime in the next 6 months, but for now it's save save save.

Lots. It was cheaper to insure my 2002 M3 married (family/home/multi-car-discount) than my 1998 Civic EX single (home discount only).

Got yall beat. I pay $360 per month, that's right per month. That works out to $4320 a year of 2160 every six months.
Guess I'll be making minimum car payments for a while, huh??
BTW I'm 20, single, and three speeding tickets (almost all 3 years ago).

I am paying $107 per month for my '04 MCS with State Farm Mutual, full coverage, $250 deductible, 32 yr old Male (Married) with perfect driving record and no tickets.
I am in Miami, FL so insurance here is typically double of what people pay most anywhere else in the state and the country.
My '02 Cooper CVT pays only a bit less, around $92 a month with same exact coverage.
State Farm puts the Cooper S in a different coverage category than the regular Cooper.

Hey,
I was 16 or 17 at the time so give me some slack. I got two of them while going to my paper route to pay for my apartment and college. Yes, I was 16 and in college. I was only going like 5 over and you just don't pay attention to that stuff when its 4 in the morning

Western or Eastern part?
If you were to move down here to Miami, your $360 premium a year would skyrocket to at least $2,000 or more for someone your age and unmarried.
So stay away from Florida until you are older than 30 and are married

Depends where you are going to school. What college are you thinking of?

I can't remember off hand, some lake ______. My boss just put in the word for me today.
Aren't we getting a little off topic?
Sorry, again I pay $4320 a year for my pride and joy to keep things going

Sunny FL (St Pete Beach) here, 39, OINK (as opposed to DINK), brn hair, blue eyes....oops, wrong forum. I'm paying around $100 mo. which is cheaper than my 2001 Wrangler was. Got a few points on the old record too. Not bad for a sporty car!! I don't think State Farm considers it a sports car, was paying almost double that for a '94 RX7.

There in Tampa/St Pete you'll pay much less for insurance than we do here in Miami.Ft Lauderdale. I am not clear whether State Farm considers the MCS a Sports Car (Certainly not in the same bracket as a Corvette or Mustang) but it is on a higher more expensive classification than the regular Cooper...may be "Fast" and "Faster"?
