Chemical Guys "Butter Wet Wax"

As you all know some waxes leave a chalky white residue when applied especially on plastic trims of our car. I saw the "Butter Wet Wax" online and the guy from CG said that its safe on plastic! Now I am not sure if this is true? I don't have alot of experience about wax but is it really safe? Has anyone used this wax before?

This is actually a pretty good wax. Didn't leave any residue when I had used it and it goes on/off pretty easy for a typical liquid wax. The shine is great as well.

I will say though, for a similar price, you can also buy Prima's Banana Gloss wax which leaves no residue on trim at all either, but also flash cures and can be used in direct sunlight. Becuase a little goes much further with Banana Gloss, I still have a half full bottle after a year of use. I ended up giving the Butter Wet Wax to my father to use on his car. The V7 Hybrid Sealant is awesome though.

I really like Chemical Guys products, but I've found that Prima is actually a bit better and are even easier to use. Octaneguy has been preaching this for some time on the forum and rightly so. I should have started listening to the advise earlier and saved some money on other products that are now just taking up shelf space.

Oh so are you saying that even if I purposely wax (Prima Banana Gloss and Butter Wet Wax) on the plastic trims of my car that it won't leave any white residue over time AT ALL? Sorry just really want to make sure because I am very specific about detailing, etc... my Mini. Thanks for telling the other wax too! I will definitely check it out!

I actually used the butter wet wax over the weekend and forgot that it is actually very similar to banana gloss in that it can be used in sunlight also. It's thicker than banana gloss but wipes off fairly easily. Results are pretty close to banana gloss but I still find the prima product easier to use. It did not stain the trim, but I didn't try to actively glob it on there to see what would happen. Since the butter wet wax is not thin like banana gloss, I would think it'd cake up much faster and be more likely to stain or get stuck in crevices. With both of these, they will only last a few weeks, so you will have to apply fairly often.
