i have been told that r56 brakes are a up grade for 02-06 mcs cars, any threads out there

 

Should be several threads if you search for them. Pretty sure it's a straight forward swap.

 

R56 std brakes are the SAME as gen1 JCW BBK...minus the red paint!!
Many threads....but biggest change is the requirent for bigger rims (any that fit gen1 jcw, mostly 17's) and different flexible brake lines...most switch to braded stainless. Most mini vendors can send you ones with the right connectors.
