R56 rear seat delete
rear seat delete
Have you guys seen the GP2 rear interior? I wonder if any aftermarket dealers can offer anything this clean. The one that I see on the MiniMania site shows a hard plastic surface( not acceptable ).
I made my own out of wood then covered it in a black fleece that looks just like the carpet. the wood part has dado's that lock into the rear seat attach points. looks very stock and clean. cost me about $10 to make. I looked at the plastic one your talking about, but the plastic look and $187 was a show stopper.

Thanks, Don
Deleting the rear seat will make the car louder, the bottom portion of the seat is very dense foam that is a very good sound insulator. I added Dynamat and it did help but it's still a bit loud. It sounds like a window is cracked open. I have also had some luck laying a shipping blanket out over the whole back area. Obviously I dont want a shipping blanket back there, so I may get an old blanket of some sort and fold it to just the right size to lay under the close out panel I made. Over all I really like the looks of the delete panel and never did plan on passengers in the rear.
I built my own as well out of some materials I had leftover from a home project. It was originally built for my R53, but I was surprised to see it also fit very well in my wife's R55.

Someone on the forum asked me for dimensions recently, and I made this diagram if you want to try it yourself:
