Hop

The front wheels of my wife's MINI have started hopping when on the highway. It doesn't seem to happen on asphalt highways, only on segmented concrete and only at certain speeds. Speed up or down and the hopping go away. I did check tire pressures and they are normal. We did have the rear struts replaced earlier this year and I think it may be time for the front ones to be replaced.

So, the first question, do you think I'm on the right track? Second question, do you think I can do this myself? I've replaced brake pads before, but never suspension components. Would there be any pitfalls of which I should be aware?

Probably on the right track, but things to try first would be rotating & balancing your tires.

If it ends up being your front suspension I'm sure you can figure it out and do it yourself especially with a DIY. It's not hard at all, using the spring compressors are sort of a pita though.
