A Chili Red Countryman

I had my CM in for the chain tensioner seal fix that was dripping oil on my garage floor and the coolant sensor recall.

I did see something interesting at Mini Dealer. They had just taken delivery of a new 2012 Countryman All4S in CHILI RED. How is THAT possible? I don't see that color in the configurator...only the pure red. (Which I don't care for) I would have gotten a Chili Red in a heartbeat. Can you order a color from a different model???

It was a 2012 on the sticker and said Chili Red on the sticker, not an aftermarket paint job. It had just been unloaded from the carrier with all the factory wrappings and stickers on it. It did NOT have the interior changes of the 2013, so it had to be a 2012. How did it come as a chili red?

The Chilli Red is a "special color edition." I don't remember how many are being produced but it is a low number of R60's in that color.

Was this at MOGR? I was hoping to see one when I was there a couple of weeks ago, but they didn't have it yet.

Isn't this the same red that is being offered on the 2013 CM? Thought I read that there was a Red, Copper and a new blue(maybe that one was for the Paceman only)....I'm not into red cars, but this red looks good.

I've seen two of these at two different local dealers! I was actually really surprised because I have my order in for my Chili Red 2013 JCW CM and was told you could only get the Chili Red in the JCW...one of the reasons I landed on that color. I was totally shocked to see it at the dealer...and a little disappointed that it wasn't limited to the JCW. However, I think I am going to like my Chili Red JCW based on what I did see.

I'm new to the world of mini and to the forums. I bought one of the 400 in VA. I love her! I already had to take her to the shop, but I have never been treated so well by a dealership in my life!!!

She really is chili red! This is her the day before I picked her up.

Yes it was. And it is listed on their dealer inventory.

It is a much nicer color than the pure red IMHO. Went to the mini dealer here to "upgrade" the 11 countryman to a 12 All4. Wife wanted a white one with black stripes until she saw the Chili Red one in the showroom. Two hours later.... we have a new chili red All 4. She is VERY happy! Oh and I am not sure why, but the 12/All4 seems much quieter on the road and less jarring over bumps than the 11 did. Could be my imagination, but she said the same thing.
