hk vs hi cost!!!

I, just picked up a 2013 JCW, with HK sound system. running my music thru bluetooth audio, I had my friends listen to it,..... and they spend big bucks on music in their vehicles,.......the first thing they said was, wheres the subwoofer, because they know I like music that thumps!!!! I was impressed with the hk system. and for $750, I think thats a bargain!!!!....... I had a 09 MCS with the stock system, that I personally did the upgrade. at no time did I spend $1100 on just 1 sub and I would never spend 2k+ on a whole system. you can bash all you want about how bad HK sounds and that I like the stereo sound that comes out my tv and all that jazz, and even have Spock create a system for you, but I'll be dam if I'm gonna pay $1100 for 1 powered sub. go to Sonicelectronic.com and buy all the gear you need and do it yourself or have someone install it. I did a whole Rockford Fosgate system for under 500. and if u want to save (boot) space, there's a 6x9 Gensis sub that fits perfectly in the rear.......elimanating the use of a sealed enclosure.........IMHO if u want to make money on your product dont bash the other guy and bring your price down.......u could make a killing if u would slash your price in half. but I still wont buy it because my HK sound sysem ROCKS!!!!!!!! I'm jus sayin!!!!!!!!!!!!Peace out er's

Congrats on the JCW. I love the h/k system too. Surprised by how many seem to have an issue with it but for a stock system, it's a good price. Only stock system I have liked better has been the upgraded HU units on Volvos (I believe they are manufactured by Mitsubishi). The h/k unit rally only starts to fall short with he low range at high volume due to not having a subwoofer. The oversized woofers in the doors do a good job compensating though.

I think they did a little bit more on the HK system for the 2013! I was at the dealer the other day and compared the 09, 10 vs 13 and found that they went a little bit better on all the speakers. and the sound is crispper and the bass is deeper, also it depends on ur music source. your sound is only as good as what u put into it, that makes it sound great!!!!! its all in the quality of your recordings!!!!!! but what I'm saying!!!! not getting off topic!!!!!! is that, for $750!!!!!!!! you get more than a stock sound system!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you get boomin systems!!!!!

I think the base HI-FI system in my 2012 is just fine.
