R56 Hankook Tires
Hankook Tires
I am looking to purchase new tread for my 08 MY R56 S. I am looking at the Hankook V12 215/45-17 or the Hankook V4 215/45-17.. Has anyone had any experience with either one of these tires. I would greatly appreciate any input any of you can give me. i can either mounted, balanced and disposed and out the door for 450.00$
I have the v12's on my mini. The grip is fantastic in wet or dry. They are relatively quiet. I have the 215/45-17, they were a great deal at Discount Tire. I have them rotated about every 4500mi or so but they wear quickly. I have about 14000 miles on them and i will be lucky to get anoter 5 or 6k out of them.
I have the v12s on my 997. First time I tried it and I think they are ok. For the price, they are quite decent. I think there are lots of better tires out there if you are interested in better grip but they are more pricey.

I had the V12's and they are a fantastic tire! Car and Driver gave them a great write up as well. My only complaint is that they didn't last long....then again, none of my tires last long, lol.
Looking for a value tire, go for it....havent had them, but read a few complaints about squishy sidewalls. I eneded up with general uhp's (now made by contentinal), but i will need a new set of tires soon...winters will go on, but in the springs, i don't think it is worth trying to get the last bit of use from them....
with a value tire, remember whay you are buying...a cheap tire...just remember you are buying something that will likly perform a bit worse than the oem to save a buck....sometimes a real need, but KNOW you are going to have to live with them for a bit!!
Hankooks V12 for a few reasons...
For the price vs. overall performance you can't beat them. The sidewalls are a bit soft but that's why I like them over those bone jarring factory equipped run-flats. For daily driving they're great!

I have had two sets of V12s on my MCS. Good tire for the price but I will not purchase again. The sidewalls flex a lot, too much for Auto-X. Next time I will go with a more expensive tire such as Michelin Pilot Super Sport or Toyo T1 Sport.
I'll echo the opinions already stated above.
My experience with Toyos and Hankooks were on my G35 Coupe, i had 255/35/19 (front) and 285/30/19 (rear) Toyo T1R's. Those were GREAT tires. VERY Grippy on wet/dry roads, but they were expensive tires and my rears would wear out faster than the fronts. When it was time for new rears, i picked up a pair of 285/35/19 Hankook V12's from reading on the forums that it was a good tire for the money and tread life wasn't that bad along with being more quiet. They were a bit softer and i found i couldn't take freeway transition curves as fast as i used to, but for everyday use, they were a great tire. I plan to get a set for my Clubbie when the time comes.
I also loved a set of Bridgestone Potenza (forgot which model) i had on my 2000 Honda Prelude. I just remember they were considered performance tires and while they were stiff, they performed very well and didn't wear out very fast for daily driving.
I have a friend that swears by Michelin's. He swears he gets better gas mileage with them on his Mercedes.

Hey thanks everyone for the replies !! But I did a total 360... I found a really good deal on a set of Continental Extreme DWS.. I went ahead and got 215/45-17.. They will be mounted on Friday for a grand total 525.00 $..
