First Infraction

Pearls first pull over and luckily it was only a warning. State Trooper pulled us over for no front plate. Guess we'll be ordering the tow hook plate holder.
Anyone got any recommendations for price, quality, and looks?

Might I also add that the cop was certainly checking out my ride and inquired about my mpg average.

there is also a flip up mount, either by hand or remote. stores under the bumper when you don't want it up.

I've heard good things about the Cravenspeed mount, and there's currently a used one for sale in the classifieds:

If my dealer hadn't drilled my bumper before I had the chance to say "NOOO!" I'd be in the market myself.

I asked my dealer not to drill the bumper (NY requires a front plate), then changed my mind when I saw the current plate mounting options. The centered plate doesnt look bad at all IMO.
Some of the offset ones take away from the symmetry & rub the bumper anyhow.
the had a plate version is cool, but requires mounting to plastic & that requires cutting/holes & is kinda floppy.

The plate holder that Mojito is referring to is made by Altec. There is a thread on here that shows an R60 with one. Summit Racing offers it for about $130. Been thinking about it for mine but I'll probably wait until I get the fix-it ticket.

I assume the OP is a woman.

Here's how a traffic stop goes for a woman:
Pulls you over, checks out your ride, inquires about MPG, gives you a warning

Here's how a traffic stop goes for a man:
Pulls you over, license and registration, 20 minutes later- here's your ticket

Awesome Koopah! And it fits well with the CMS?

Looks great and is less expensive than most I've seen. Is it good quality? Does it easily retract?
Sorry for so many questions! :p

It fits very well and utilizes one of the attachment points on the underside of the lower valance. However, you DO have to drill two additional holes in the valance but they are located on the underside and cannot be seen from above. I used well-nuts to ensure sturdy mounting points in the front and a slightly larger diameter/length screw for the rear (existing) mounting point.

It is remarkably durable though I though it was a bit flimsy. We have accidentally scraped one of those concrete wheel stops a couple of times and there was absolutely no damage.

The plate folds down to a horizontal position and gets pushed directly back under the car. We have the manual version (simpler to install and fewer items to go wrong) and would not have found any advantage to the motorized version...except, perhaps, the "bling" factor.

Did the Officer give you a fix it ticket? I am betting not and here is why:

there is a section of winding road in my dad's town, posted 25mph...

he got pulled over doing 52mph

my dad is 91 years old and well known in the community

the officer wrote him a fixit ticket for a trinket hanging from the rear view mirror

dad started to remove it then and there, the officer stopped him and said to leave it there to "give an out" if he gets stopped again ...lol

the officer had a lot of questions about his new cms all4

Yeah, I'm aware of the info on the link which is why I never put my front plate on.
But, I've heard they corrected the issue.

And all the trooper gave me was a simple warning.
My husband keeps his plate in the windshield of his Beemer, and I'll probably get the MINI Mania two hook mount.
