'02 R53 @ 195,000 mi. and starting to have problems. Power steering was in/out for a couple of days - completely out now. I'm looking for recommendations on whether to go with a new or remanufactured pump. The prices are HIGH!

Also having trouble with the drivers window - not going quite all the way up. I removed the door panel and lubed the track but to no avail.

 

The ps pump imo should be new (check the fan for it too)....on the rebuilt, the pump is changed, but the electric motor and the electronic controlers are just cleaned...if either if the later has failed....rebuilding is a bit of a waste of $$. If the pump is physically leaking, a rebuild would fix the leak...
But pumps that run on or fail to run....the electronics seem to be the usual issue.
On the windo...at one point mini was swapping out window motors pretty frequently...think the part was replaced with an imptoved part in 2005....

 

How close to the top does it stop....
you might need to "reinitialize " the windo...it kinda learns the stop point and the dip needed to open the door...i think you hold up switch up for more than 6 seconds....if it is crooked...than you have a different issue.
