Question about countryman car

After much deliberation I decided to sell my 2012 Countryman for a larger SUV.

After talking to my local dealer he said that the Countryman with the bucket seats in the back was a slow seller and he said It would be more difficult to sell my car.

Is this true?

it's a matter of preference. some people love their back buckets and some like their benches. there's an entire thread on it. i personally think he's just holding it over your head in order to lowball you on the trade in price.

I agree with dpike. I picked the rear bucket seats as I preferred them as did my wife. Lets face it, you aren't going to comfortably put 3 people back there. the bench, I've read, is good for kids/dogs... so I'm calling BS on the dealer too.

Not sure about it being that much harder to sell but one advantage of the bench seats that we have is that it makes loading cargo in the back, with the rear seats down, much easier... one flat surface versus two rounded surfaces. Don't know that a great number of consumers would care about that though.

I sold my '11 CM Base 6MT in June and it just sold last week- ironically b.c we bought it back. There wasn't much interest in it because it is usually better to buy new due to the interest rates/promotions. I mean you can get .9% new vs. 5-8% for a slightly used one. I am not sure that the buckets would have a whole lot to do with it, but I think the financial part would.

that is why i opted for the "flat load floor" option with my bucket seats

my salesman must be the exception that proves the rule ....

on my first visit to the dealer, he was reading C&D and had copies of MT and a couple of english car mags on his desk ...

he is a gear-head himself and drives a very modded bmw 335i and has owned a lot of nice sportscars

He reads car mags and drives a Bimmer? Yeah, I'd trust him.

Flat Load Floor - brings back memories of the early days of ordering and trying to figure out what MINI was up to.

the salesman showed me the flat load floor option on a car out in the lot ... he was very insistant that i get that option ... i am glad he was ... until he showed me, i really did not understand what it was and had passed on it when i "built" my cms all4 online

i have used it half a dozen times or so now

Back at the beginning, there were none on the lot and the sales people were clueless. This is from the Ancient History Department.
