Retrofit Chrono Pack and Cruise Control on 2002 MCS

Hi Guys, I did a lot of research here for both of these projects but couldn't find anything conclusive or relevant to my Year model... so here I'm

Some one locally is parting out a 2005 MCS 6 speed, I want to get his chrono pack and 3 spoke steering wheel (to add cruise to my non cruise 2002 MCS 6 speed).

Question: Will the chrono retrofit in my car as in the plugs and socket are same? If it fits do i need to get the computer programmed by the dealer to get it working? Has any one done this on early MCS's?

Question: I have the the 2 spoke steering wheel with no cruise, can the 3 spoke steering wheel with cruise control switches off of 2005 MCS retrofit on my 2002 MCS?
I have read somewhere here that all cars come prewired for cruise, we need to get the switches and get it programmed at the dealership..... but i cant find a 2 spoke steering wheel with cruise so I'm asking if I can put the 3 spoke one?

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I'd tried to put a set in my 03 and it only sort of worked. Speedo and tach worked but that was about it. The pin out for the warning lights was all different. I had various lights on all the time and I think it was the oil light that now blinked when I turned on the blinkers. Also the gauges in the center gauge didn't work except for coolant temp. I ending up selling them to a person with an 05+ car and they worked fine for him.

Thanks for sharing your experience, looks like I'm better off with pod style gauges!

go for the pod gauges....
retrofitting is hard, sometimes crazy $$$ IF you can get the parts still....but WAS TECHNICALLY possible.
BUT was so hard, most dealers did ONE or looked at the time. work, etc, and would flatly refuse to do it, or just not guarantee it would work...when new they would just REOEDER the car if it came in wrong, and you wanted certain options...
One thing to remember...
the 2002+2003 cars were very different that some later cars...some things were included in later cars to simplify production, or adding options....but the early 2002 cars were often made with preproduction parts ( this becomes apparent with some suspension parts and engine mounts)...and even dealers are superised....that is why 2002 cars are so cheap.
The 2005+Model year cars had an updated computer, and many other parts...the computer on the 2005+ cars had a few items that it handled, like the on-board trip computer...a separate module on early cars, but handled in the newer faster ecu on the later 2005 cars.....so some items like trip computer can just be "activated" by going into the computer on newer gen1 cars.
I kinda doubt the Cruise can be made to work...but give it a shot!
