I have searched and searched and see others have had this issue but have found no resolution. I have an 06 R53 with the OEM Aux cable installed. Works fine stand alone with phone, ipod, etc. I installed and hardwired a XM Onyx. It works for 5 seconds and then the AUX goes away and the radio plays. I have to unplug the aux cable to get the AUX selction the be available again then same result. Tried another better quality aux cable same result. I found some other threads with people having issues with iPods and other MP3 players if they use the CLA and Aux at the same time. Something about them sharing the same fuse and something causes it to shut off.

My question for the vets that have maybe seen a fix in the past? Can I T-tap into another 12V source to fix this. I have read some take from some green OBD wire when hardwiring V1s or Escorts.

Please, any help is apreciated. Thanks in advance. Will post pics for fun if needed.

Put a ground loop isolator between your device and the AUX jack, something like this or similar:
I'm surprised it didn't come up when you searched. It's been discussed quite a few times.
