Turbo Blow off Valve Sound

New owner of an R60 CMS 6MT but not new to Mini. In my previous Cooper S (2008) I could hear the BOV but in the CM i don't hear it at all. I sort of liked hearing it and am curious why on the CM it is not noticeable at all. Poke around on the forum but didn't see anything so sorry it it has been covered already.

Under hard acceleration you should be able to hear it. Crank it up.

Does the bonnet have insulation under it? Maybe that is dampening the sound.

yeah, i had the alta intake, you could totally hear it, every time you let off the gas.

The stock intake silences it

I have the VIP intake and that really makes a huge difference. Every time to let her rip, it sounds fierce.

Go for a Forge BOV with an open CAI and you'll hear it!! On my car I have a crazy loud exhaust with that amazing turbo blow off sound... doesn't get any better

I went with an AFE high flow filter instead of an aftermarket CAI and was surprised at how much more noticeable the BOV is. So, if for some reason you don't want to do the whole CAI drop in an AFE, that will definitely help.

The DDMworks Street intake is the most affordable way to get more sound.
