JCW Stage kits

What are all the different JCW stage kits I read about? When I ordered my factory JCW I do not remember seeing any options for different levels of JCW parts.

When on the build site, click on detail view, and scroll all the way to the bottom. There aren't "Stage Kits" per se, as your JCW is already Stage II, but there are suspension bits, carbon fiber bits etc...

There are no "stages" just a factory JCW and the JCW kit (added to a MCS). You have a factory JCW and the only way to higher performance is through the aftemarket. You've already got all the goodies.

A MCS can have a JCW kit added but will never have the goodies a factory JCW has to start out with. Once that has been added, there are no other "stages" or kit that can be added and just like a factory JCW, addition performance can be attained through the aftermarket.

I figured pretty much what you guys are saying. I don't understand why so many people say they have a JCW stage 1, 2 etc... Guess it make it sound cool or something.

There is a Mini JCW "Stage I" kit available for fitment to the Cooper "S" which gives you a JCW catback exhaust, new JCW air intake, and new software flash.

The "factory" JCW is considered "Stage II". Which has other upgrades from the factory that are not available on the "S". Like a larger turbo etc...
Even the JCW Stage II exhaust is different from the JCW Stage I exhaust.

To clarify, these may be non-official MINI terms, but it's how they are distinguished. Refer to link:

http://www.motoringfile.com/2008/11/...i-vs-stage-ii/

Hope this helps,

Greg

Stage "X" is just a made up name. No such thing. Just factory JCW and JCW kit, period. Yeah, maybe some think it sounds cool, whatever.

I'm new to the mini fellowship and since owning our clubby I've done few performance mods but never got any seat time in a factory JCW. Seems like the larger turbo and Brembos are the true mechanical differences between the S and the factory JCW. The suspension and tuning all can be upgraded to surpass JCW specs with aftermarket parts.
