Windshield pillar cap/top 2005 Mini Cooper S

Someone ripped this piece off of my car while it was parked in my neighborhood. I am having a really hard time replacing it mostly because I am not sure what it is called. Can anyone let me know the name of this piece? Also, possibly where I can find it aside from the dealer? I added a picture to help clear up any confusion on what I'm looking for.

thanks!

If you go to http://parts.miniofsouthatlanta.com

Search for 51137128158 will bring up the exterior trim illustration. It looks like you are pointing to one of the column A covers.

i thought i found it...but no....this is for the whole column cover. The part i need is really more part of the roof trim, the tiny little corner piece on a 2005 Mini Cooper S.

I say email mini of south atlanta. They will need the last seven of your VIN. That was the only way i could make sure what i was ordering was the part i needed.

Yeah...

I bought my car with that piece missing. I've been searching high and low for it. But it seems everywhere I think I've found it, I have to purchase the entire trim that goes around the roof of the car. Not gonna happen.

Good luck

I found another illustration on mini of south atlanta. It looks like part number 51137058122, Clip.

My 08 Clubman doesn't have that part or else I'd pop it off and look for the part number.

Never give up! Never surrender!!

Why would someone rip it off? Mine came loose one day after a power washer and an air dry (driving really fast). It was hanging by a thread so I just glued it down.
I'd say hit up a lowes or home depot and find a $2 part that does the job.

^^ Someone would rip it off someone else's car cuz they can't find the part lol

Home Depot or something of the like sounds like a good idea. Never thought of that.

My MCS was missing both pieces when I bought it and I lucked up by buying a pair from a fellow NAM member who was parting their Mini out. A few weeks later, I found this while looking for a good price on a euro shelf:

lol $42 a piece!! Model your own out of RTV silicon or bubble gum or something.

I know I'm cheap, but $42 for a piece of rubber the lenght of my thumb... I would honestly chew up some Hubba bubba watermelon, wedge it in there and paint it black.

Yeah. I think the best bet is to check the marketplace, ebay, or the local junkyard. It's really hard to search for online anyway since there doesn't seem to be an official name for that piece and you kinda have to describe it.

I think he's looking for the little tiny corner piece on the roof gutter trim. Not the actual A-pillar. At least that's what looks like is circled in the pic.

If it is the A-pillar then, I had to get mine from a dealer for about $60 cuz nowhere else I could find it was cheaper. Oh well.

Hi All,

I've answered this question many times before and have had to replace this piece, once on each side.

The piece is not sold separately and is in fact part of the drip rail that runs along the entire edge of the car. Yes, it is a $60 part, and is usually impossible to get back on properly once broken off unless your glue it in place.

The part number for the right side drip rail is 51137032353 per realoem.com. If you follow the link, the piece is #10 in the illustration/list.

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...82&hg=51&fg=20

As a side note, if any of you have had your windshield replaced, you HAVE to remove this drip edge before removing or installing the windshield. This is how many of them wind up broken off. It is also a good way to not have to pay to replace it yourself if they are the party responsible for breaking it off.
