If it looks too good to be true...

...it's probably a cashiers check scam. I would avoid at all costs.

this is the second in as many days that have had a buy it now price of 9000. Well, I emailed the first guy who had a 03 blk/blk with $10,000 of mods into. He backed out of the ebay citing an error in minimum bid but then in his email he said it was still only 8900. Go figure, I assumed that was a scam, if this turns into the same thing I assume it is a scam

Sounds like a steal to me.

Sorry about the poor humor but I had to say it.

I noticed it because of your post. I put it here so more people would see it.

Did you try to buy it?

Who in their right mind would sell a decent MCS for $9k? If he asked $15k he'd sell it in a week instead of a day. Maybe he's going to be fitted for some concrete shoes tomorrow if he doesn't come up with the money

It means like maybe he needs some money real fast to pay off bad guys who might want to do him harm. They aren't really concrete shoes, just a heavy chuck of concrete to make him sink to the bottom of the nearest body of water when he doesn't get the money quick enought...........then again, maybe not.

Ever hear of Jimmy Hoffa?

There are a few problems with this ebay listing.

First-
Note: This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only.

This means he can restrict sale to only approved bidders so you must contact the seller first.

There are over four days left to bid.

The MINI has NAV screen/multifunction steering wheel but they aren't listed as a major options in the information about the car.

The buy it now price is $9,000 which normally should buy the car and close the bids but that doesn't seem correct.
The seller may void it if the buyer was not pre-approved.

It's not a typo...I emailed the guy as well, pointing out that he had a misprint on his "buy it now" price. No misprint. He did mention that it would be shipped no charge by the seller from Greece (there's a red flag for you). As the old adage goes...if it looks too good to be true... I wouldn't go near this thing unless you are willing to gamble all your money...or discover that you don't receive a tile with the vehicle.

Anyone run a car-fax? Perhaps it has a problem with the title, is a repaired salvage, or something along those lines. Could also be a repo or government auction, in rare instances, you can get an incredible deal that way. Most likely, a scam or something is seriously wrong with the paperwork or car...

Cooperdevil,
If you got an email for the silver one saying that the seller is moving to Greece than there is something up. This is the same response I got for another 03 for 9000 a week ago. The guy said he was moving back to Greece.
Here's my take on the situation concluding this from the email I recieved last week about another MINI for 9000. This dude or people puts these cars up on ebay, then they cancel the ebay auction and say that it is still for sale through email. The dude said that 25% of the price (2225) will give him the confidence to pick "you" as the bidder. Since the ebay is cancelled you are doing this strictly on your own without the insurance of ebay. In turn this means that this dude takes your $2225 and runs off to "Greece."
Here is the other that was for 9000:
Ebay

^ I remember that one from a couple of weeks ago. The ultra-ugly wheels and the description of the car as a "stallion" stand out Of course, from the pics, its a different car than the one that started this thread.

Ebay is getting more and more scary.
