2012 Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

I've been in Monterey/Carmel since Wednesday for the RMMR...talk about insane vehicles...I've never been around this much money before.

The history here at Monterey:

A Dino if you like it...

Old School:

Exhaust collector from above car...

And wing nuts holding on the wooden deck...

The Mighty Cooper on the Corkscrew:

Brabham BT-6:

GT-40 in Turn 4:

This is what happens when you brake too late going into the corkscrew:

That's the underside of the wing, here's what it's supposed to look like:

Absolutely excellent set of pictures. Were you on track taking pictures or pit spectator area.

How many cars did your family run at the Pre? Nice Cooper, very nice. What engine? In the race copper not the Giles Green panel Cooper.

Thanks Don! I was in the grand stands, and then the spectator area at the top of the corkscrew.
My dad ran both the Cooper T-52 with it's 998cc BMC motor and his Elva Mk VII with it's 1600cc Lotus Twin Cam in both the pre reunion and the RMMR.

He had a little mishap in the corkscrew Sunday morning where the stub shaft on the right rear separated itself from the hub causing my dad to spin around, going backwards down the corkscrew before getting turned the right way in the gravel trap. Scary moment for dad, but he's ok and both rear axles will be replaced for the next race.

Wow, backwards into the gravel, looking at traffic is not a happy feeling. :(

Annotations were good, a good sense of perspective. Where does he reside, does he ever come play in Colorado?

an' I've four hungry children, and the crops in the field...

I've seen some bad times, been through some sad times,

But this time the hurting won't heal.

You picked a fine time to leave me loose wheel!

He lives in Santa Monica, CA but the cars live in Hayward, CA. Unfortunately I haven't been able to temp him out this way for a RMVR event yet, most of the guys who use the same prep shop stick to Sonoma and Laguna Seca and head down to Coronado once a year (or they have other stashes of cars across the country prepped by other shops ). My dad wouldn't want to see the bill for an RMVR event, the crew travel alone would have him freaked out.

My pleasure, I'm still going through the 1,400 pictures I took and will have more at a later date. Sadly only 1 Mini ran this year, but I did get a picture of it :D

One more video:
Dad was a witness (as in right in front of him) to a head on during his sports racer class.
