On Sunday September 16th we will have a run starting in Mount Holly then back roads to Lake Lure were we will stop for lunch. Then continue on toward Asheville onto Blue Ridge Parkway through the tunnels at Craggy Gardens and finally down Route 80 past Blind Kenny for some pictures. At the bottom of Route 80 there is an ice cream shop if anyone is interested.

wow...nice. i did a similar drive through that area last summer in my '09 BMW 135i ///M sport. i will be at the beach that weekend, otherwise that would have been a great road trip. have fun!

Jabell, can I make a suggestion? I live just down the street from B&B on Mount Holly Huntersville road. That parking lot is a PITA to get in and out of. The Walmart on the other side of 16 has a light for MHH road. Might make getting everybody out in a group easier.

I Plan on being there. Making a run to Fayetteville for Charity Satuday and fun run, Sunday . I have been to the Ice Cream place on another run and they have some really good sugar free chocolate and vanilla. Hope some of you plan to run to solider city with me Saturday.

 

Is this run only for M2C2 or are/have we put this out to other clubs in and around the area?

 

I found a place that can provide a car sized plastic bag in the shape of a car of your choice. I have ordered one for my car, especially after that last wine run

 

Rick I have not posted to any other groups but everyone is welcome, I made it for Sunday so the guys at the dealership could go.

I have made this run on the bike and I can promise no dirt roads.

 

Do you have the .gpx file for this run? If so can you send it to me?

 

Unfortunately, we're going to miss this one....but I have a good excuse! I will be picking up my new to me MINI that weekend in New York.

Everything went well except for some wet grass (1 occurence), sidways cars (3 occurences ) and RVs on the mountain (1) - and lets not forget that Camry :(
