Can LED bulbs be fitted without codes

I'd like to upgrade the H7 high beam bulb and the 921 reverse bulb to LED's.

By doing this will it cause codes to come up ?

I have an 06 Mini Cooper S with HID headlamps.

Thanks, MiniKar

I searched the same topic, there's a lot of threads but the gist of it is this - some throw codes, some don't. You can add resistors to the LED wiring or use a scantool to remove the code/light (don't quote me on that last part though. I have no idea).

I just did LED blackjack scuttle lights, drove about 200 miles in two days without a problem w/ my 2004 Base

The blackjack t/s will not throw a code, they either have a resistor built in or are wired in series to create enough basic resistance, as far as reverse lights & highbeams, hmmm, the reverse lights only being on when they are shouldn't be an issue, but I never tried it, I did however try a tail light bulb swap once, no code, but it just wasn't bright enough for me, as far as the high beam, I would think you wouldn't want one, led's are liminesent but don't actually emit / throw light for a great distance, you may be better off with a color match hologen or an HID upgrade.
