R60 have rear bench, wish I had buckets
I had buckets in my '11 CM and thought they were really cool. Everyone thought they were neato and they looked nice. The rail a novel idea but was all but useless back there as the cup holders did nothing but rattle so I took them out anyways. So I was left with 2 seats and a random thing in between them that didn't serve any purpose anymore.
Now in my '12 CMs I have a bench and it has come in handy. Sure I don't have the rail in the back or the "cool" factor, but it is more comfy for for passengers to be able to sit and much better for our dogs to travel back there now. A hidden bonus, the trunk/hatch is actually a little bigger due to the fold up partition not being needed to block off the cargo area from the passenger area. I can fit more back there without having to fold down the seats and there is no partition to rattle like in my first CM. Oh and if you do need to fold down the seats with the bench, it folds down a lot flatter than with the buckets which makes it a lot nicer for hauling large items.

I like my bench. One day I had to help a very ill friend --who is very large--make a doctor's appointment. He would have been profoundly uncomfortable in the bucket seat. I had him sit in the back and he was fine. I also think it is a little easier to install my nephews' car-seats. I like having 3 choices of seats to fold down when configuring for a large load. It works for me
Our bench seat passengers enjoy the wide fold down center seat armrest. Now, if someone made accessory cup holders for the two circular depressions in the back of the center seat, they'd really be happy!
Fortunately, there are those well-designed cup holders up front...

We are shopping for a Countryman and we are definitely going for the bucket seats in the back. Our kids will enjoy the cupholders, and with my daughter's car seat in there, there's no room for anything in the middle anyway.
pry it off and there are tie down loops under the covers
put a strap across the headreat posts and pull the bucket seats down until they are sitting flat
the side bolsters recover when you put the seats back up

if you open the back doors and look down at the outboard base of the seats, you will see a platic cover sticking out

Very interesting to know about these tie down loops. I was just at my dealer's checking out the bench seat (which I much prefer), however I was not told about this little trick.
Thanks for the info!

I have the buckets and the full rail, but the bench seat would be better for my dog, and the split rail (with buckets) would be better for passengers sliding in and out. But the buckets are very comfortable (I've ridden in the back seat) and the full center rail is cool looking all lit up at night.
Same boat. Would have liked the buckets but they had one mostly like what I wanted in stock so I got it. If I was to do over I'd def had gone buckets just for the coolness factor. I never have passengers or lots of luggage anyway.
Great tidbit, thanks very much!
