Has anyone tried to install r56 mirrors on the door of a r53?

First you ask why do such a crazy thing,

One reason, mirror caps, You can get alot of cool oem mirror caps for r56 that you cant for r53. So what do yall think, Possible?

Making it mount to your car would be the easy part. I would be more worried about the electrical end. Will the signals generated by the ECU on a Gen 1 car operate the servos inside an Gen 2 mirror? Short of finding an expert, I think you're going to have to hook up a Gen 2 mirror to your car and see if you can adjust it.
