I will soon be putting my 2002 Cooper S up for sale.
Details about my MINI and pictures are at:
http://www.vinceandjessica.com/mini/index.html

I am in Dunedin, Florida.

Please email me via the link on my website (the link above) if you are interested, I am not on NAM very often and therefore rarely check my private messages. Thanks!

Vince

i think you are being a little optimistic in your asking price, mate!

i just got a 2004, same car as yours but with all 3 packages, sunroof, xenons, 17" s-lites, and all for only $23,500..... and mine has zero miles and is a 2004.

maybe you'll get more offers if you lower the asking price?

trying to help,
-ABT-

the reason it's so high is because the seller thinks modifications add to the value of the car, when in reality they do nothing to it. Good luck on the sale, but you won't get $22K for it from people who know the market.

What you say is true for some mods, but not all. Without checking the book value, if he priced the car with 16's, then I think he's okay to try to recoop some of the costs of adding 17's to the car. If it had 17" OEM, the book value would be higher anyways. I also think the exhaust adds to the car, although trying to get back $900 might be a stretch

In the end, it's all about supply and demand. If someone wants it, they will pay, no matter what you or I say about the price. Good luck and nice car!

Mods rarely add any value to any vehicle if vehicle is pre-owned. I know this lesson from selling my Vette which had many up-grades. Many dealerships in the NJ/NY area have new MINIs on the lot ready to roll. I bought mine off the lot after it sat for a whole two days  I do remember when I went to Vette shows putting a for sale sign in the window(with no intention to sell) just to see how high someone would go to get my car......you would be surprised....

Well, your "trying to help" comment have pretty much spoiled this thread.
Here's my reply:

The KBB value on the car is $21,435. I am not really interested in selling the car until after May 3rd, but if someone wants it before then I will sell it. If it hasn't sold by then I will reduce the asking price.
Cars are typically priced above what you really expect to get for them because people will always try to deal with you. As stated on the details page, I will take offers above $20,000
Also, this is not NY, this is FL.

If all else fails I will put it on Ebay, where MINIs seem to go for very high selling prices.

Thanks Civic. After my classic gets here I'll put it in the Auto Trader too. Ebay will be a last resort due to the scams and problems I hear of with selling/buying on Ebay.
