Hey guys

Any thoughts on what it might be -- getting a squeaking noise while taking sharp turns at low speed...

Thoughts on the cause and/or cost to repair?

 

Hi did you find out what your noise was when turning? My new to me '09 Cooper S has a high pitched squeak when turning slowly only to the right. Is not brakes but has that type of sound.

 

I didn't if was a car I was looking at but didn't buy....my guess would be wheel bearing...sorry.

 

Not all the squeaking noises are the same, mine ( R53 ) was the steering rack, make sure that the oil level is right. Also it might need an alignment. that is the easy part, I will try that first. if not to the shop.

 

My car had the same problem this summer. It turned out the caliper bolts were bent. It took me taking it to the shop 2x before they figured it out. When I turned the corner slowly, it would sound like I was dragging a metal pipe along.
It could be wheel bearings as well. I'd get them to inspect your brakes/calipers/pads/etc.

 

Anyone have this same experience, but with more of a rubbing sound than squeaking?
