215/45/17 with 32 offset?

Hey,

I'm going to be running the 17'' OZ Superleggera with a 5MM spacer to fit my brakes. The wheels are et37 so effectively it's a et32 setup.

Will I have any rubbing issues lowered on coilovers with about a 1 finger gap? Should I consider getting a 215/40/17 instead of a 215/45/17? Not sure if the smaller diameter will help avoid rubbing on the outside edge or not.

thanks!
Andrew

I've got a set of wheels/tires with the same offsets/spacers & tire size.

...the car was only lowered with springs, had maybe a bit more than finger gap.

Rubbed! ..mostly in the rear, and especially with a passenger or anything loaded in back.

..have just put in coilovers with 16" wheels & more low.

When I want to put those 17s back on (will adjust height of course) and not do the spacers. (have also done some trimming)

..the 215/45 might not rub if you don't use spacer (do you need w/rear brakes?)...and do some trimming.

Or just go 205/45

If you have fully adjustable coilovers you can adjust ride height to give you clearance if needed. If you have front adjustable camber plates and rear adjustable lower control arms you can use more negative camber for clearance.

205/45-17 would give you the most clearance overall for your wheels and 215/40-17 is workable and less tall than stock.

215/45-17 is not the best choice since it is about 0.4" taller than stock and a little wider as well.

The more you lower your suspension the less clearance you may have. If you do not want to go more negative on camber or adjust your ride height up then pick tires that are not wider and taller than stock.

You can also trim the black plastic inner wheel arches with a dremmel for more clearance.

Yeah, that's kinda what I was thinking. Thanks for the feedback guys. Since I don't have adjustable camber plates (yet), I'll probably go with the 215/40.

Am I going to notice the offset difference? if I decide to not run the spacer in the rear? I'm guessing it's subtle...

^^ visually the 5mm is not that noticable.

but that 5mm can make a big difference when it comes to rubbing.
