OK so I call up Mini Manhattan because I want a sport link /bike rack and Fog light hook up. First they tell me they do not recommend the sport link/bike rack, something about drilling holes in the bumper. I suspect perhaps too much trouble to install? No real good reason given despite the fact that I know that for a MCS the holes are drilled in the rear grills. OK so no sport link/bike rack . How about rear fog light conversion - new panel and software fix right? Nope. These are on hold because there's been a "recall" because there's been electrical problems.

Anybody hear about these things from their dealers or do I need to switch dealers. Thank goodness there are a few in the metropolitan tri-state area.

As far as I know, nobody here has had the SportLink installed. When i was at my dealer a couple of weeks ago, the parts manager still didn't have a price on the SportLink ...

I've seen the sport link actually installed on an MCS, but it was a demo version that MINI Fini had out for the Poker Rally last spring at Long Beach. Haven't seen another since...

From what i've read on other posts... MINI of manhattan seems to always generate some bad experiences. Head across the river and hit Prestige MINI (Mahwah, NJ) They've always treated me like gold, and the parts guys will sit with you awhile and look up everything you want to know on their computer with no rush. Great guys! Head on over there!

Don't know about the Sport Link but the rear fog kit had a bulletin out. I had an appointment w/ my dealer to have the rear fogs installed a couple of weeks ago. The day I brought it in the service manager told me there was a bulletin out on the older kits. He advised me to put it off until the new kits arrived. A quick check w/ MINIUSA and it was true, he wasn't fibbing. It wasn't a re-call though.

I dropped by yesterday as the new kits had arrived 1 hour later I had a full set o'toggles  boy.
