Just Ordered an Alta AccessPort

Should be coming in today or tomorrow. I've wanted one for the past 6 months, and I just now bit the bullet. Anyone have a general sense of new 0-60 times with stage 1?

I'm kinda freaking out in anticipation.

....

....

Yup, still freaking out.

I can't wait to slay.

On another note, I do find it odd that the AccessPort has the 0-60 timer, but no one seems to have posted what type of 0-60s they are running with the various stages.

I've used pretty much every search function on the internets I can think of. It may just because we are all horrible drivers and can't post good numbers

Mine is stock except for the accessport, and I have an auto. I have some pretty significant traction problems in 1st gear with the AP. I have some all season tires, far from optimum for acceleration.

I don't chase numbers, but the difference is immediate. Eliminating the throttle lag, and the boost in midrange power is awesome. It is painful when I uninstall it for dealer work....

Post up the 0-60 if you get a good number.

Have fun,
Mike

Mike,

I'm a pretty poor shifter - we'll see how I do.

I tried it once. I had 5.5 with my JCW.

That was running stage 1?

I'm hoping to be somewhere around 6 with my horrible shifting.

Is there an option with AP if you have a FMIC but no full exhaust? I only have a JCW muffler for the sound, not the whole exhaust. Is there a tune for this or need to be customized?

Yes, stage 1 92 octane.

I've done it a few times. My best was 5.387s - running JCW 91 OCT Stage1 Map.

I am now running JCW 91 OCT Stage1 FMIC Map, but haven't had a chance to try 0-60 since I put on my intercooler.

Would be interesting to see if I can get it below 5.3

The intercooler won't help 0-60 times. It will let you do it more often before heat soak sets in.

Okay, so to be clear, the stage 1 maps that you guys are running for the JCW is different than the one that I'll be running for my MCS, right? I use 93 octane fuel, so I should be able to run the 92+ map, I believe.

Read: I shouldn't be expecting sub 5.5 numbers (assuming I get better at shifting), right?

True but it does allow me to run JCW Stage1 FMIC vs regular JCW Stage1, which is a slightly more aggressive tune = slightly more performance.

Guess I'll have to do a 0-60 test to prove it out...

Yes, the JCW maps are different then the MCS maps.

Update: I love this thing! Holy torque steer, batman! (even with the NM insert)

My best time has been 6.5 (no real performance mods, Accessport Stage 1)

I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong - do you guys usually shift into 3rd, or try to push to 60 in 2nd?

I've had decent success with traction, but I also know that my starts could be much better.

I disagree, you'll have better internal air flow and less restriction and a higher tune with the big IC and ACPort.

I didn't see this question answered earlier. You should run a stage 1 FMIC map for those modifications.

So...

I've been doing all my 0-60 runs with traction control on. Think it'll help off, assuming I can maintain decent traction?

ORazor,
Is most everything stock on your MCS (besides the AP)? If not what other mods do you have? I'm not sure if I should bite the bullet now on the AP, or upgrade the intercooler, turbo, downpipe, exhaust, etc and then buy the AP...How easy of a plug-and-play device is it?

I don't have any other performance mods besides what's listed in my signature (which is really not much to speak of). That said, the AP has made serious gains. First gear now actually has some kick, second throws you back into the seat, and third is an awesome smooth torque band.

Like, I'm not sure I want it much faster! I'd say get the AP first, and if you still want more, do the IC to go to stage 2.

Ya I noticed the mods after I clicked 'post reply'. Oh well. I'm not sure what the WMW DV is though. I'm new to the Mini World and bought a new-to-me 2008 less than a year ago so I'm still getting my bearings on what mods are the best bang-for-buck or even worthwhile. I know what I want my mini to eventually look like, and drive like. I'm just trying to learn from others' success and failures so I make a few mistakes as possible. The only things I'm really worried about is messing up the transmission or having the valves bust out and start dancing on the hood haha.
