Will aftermark intake void the warranty on warped hood scoop?

I searched the forums about this question I have and it didn't seem to be answered. So I'm starting a new post. I was wondering if anyone ever got turn away from the warped hood scoop b/c you have an aftermarket intake. I don't see why it would void it but with dealerships these days you never know! If they can blame the sun for the warp I don't see why they wouldn't blame an aftermarket intake either. Please chime in...Thanks!

I cannot see why, as the intake doesn't create heat to cause warping.
As suggested, call or specific go into the dealer and discuss with your service adviser.
They should be able to provide you some options of replacement.

They can blame the sun all they want, but they would still have to PROVE it. Hood scoop warping is a KNOWN issue, even on stock cars. They would be hard pressed to try to deny a claim based on an aftermarket intake. It's so known in fact, that they changed the material construction of the hood scoops to incorporate more metal into the plastics to prevent future warping.

I have never heard of the sun blame. I told the SA, he said "give me XXX time to get it painted to match".

I went in, and the tech asked me how I like my intake. Complete non-issue.

Most likely not. I took mine in and they replaced it.

NM Titanium heat shield... A little pricey but even after hard hot Savannah drives, my scoop is only warm, never hot. That or the $25 dollar aluminum foil thingy... just fix the problem. You can't go wrong with the Intake Scoop Grill by Minifini either. By the by, my dealer (Charleston SC) has no issue with my DoS CAI.

i had a DDM intake on mine when I brought mine in for a warped hood scoop. They didn't even mention the intake ..I opted to go for a CF hood scoop. The dealer was super cool and gave me a discount of what it would cost for a new stock hood scoop (off of the price of the CF scoop).

My dealership has always been extremely helpful and eager to address any problems I've had. Sorry to hear that some dealers are not like that. Please don't consider all MINI dealers to be as bad as some that you guys have experienced ...they aren't!

oh, by the way, not sure if you know but my dealer and several others offer discounts on service done if you belong to a MINI car club that has a partnership w/ the dealership. (not sure if "partnership" is the right word). I get 20% off any service through my MINI club. -it is a pretty sweet deal actually. I brought my MINI in for FULL service and instead of it being $400 it was only about $320.

-in addition to the CF hood scoop (which seems to handle heat much better than the stock scoops) I also installed an M7 heat shield.

Thanks for all the replies! I just wanted to make sure they aren't going to give me the run around. I'll talk to the advisor and see if they can work somethig out with the cf hoodscoop. Anyone dealt with mini of San Francisco here?
