So I have a 2012 JCW and wanted to see if anyone would be crazy enough to trade their Lounge Leather interior for my Recaro interior. Could be just front seats or all. I have black and need black as well with low miles. If crazy let me know and I can meet in Maryland/Virginia.

 

Not crazy, but inquiring... Why do you want to get rid of your Recaro seats?

I got the Recaro because I thought they were all leather, they are but part suede part leather. Did Mini takes the States and liked the lounge leather. Said what the hay, worth asking.

 

Heck if I fit, I'd trade my cloth sport seats plus a bunch of cash for the recaros. Lol

Have you inquired after any local upholstery shops as to how much it would cost to have the Recaros redone with leather? If you're really going to trade, you should ask for some cash on top of the lounge leather seats - aren't the Recaros way more expensive? Other option would be just trying to find a set of lounge leather seats and buying them - maybe hit up any places you see selling used MINI parts on fleabay and asking if they have or can get their hands on some? If you could do that, you should be able to subsequently sell the Recaros for a profit.

FWIW, the suede (actually alcantara) is there as it holds you in place better than smooth leather.

Recaros at $2750, which include seat heaters.

So: $250 delta, not so huge. I'd have been tempted if they'd been available when I ordered mine.

 

I stand corrected on the price. I'd still be inclined to have the Recaros reupholstered if I were in the position of having them but not liking the Alcantara. Guess it depends on whether it's JUST the Alcantara he doesn't like, or the Alcantara and the way the seats fit him.

Hey, im a long time lurker and when I saw this I just couldn´t pass up this opportunity. I have all black leather lounge seats with white piping. Around 7k miles on them. Problem is I live in Mexico City. However I wouldn´t mind having a car without seats for a few days, while my seats ship over to where you are and then you ship yours back. I would pay ALL of the shipping costs. You would just get the leathers seats, swap them and ship the Recaros back to me. PM if you are interested. The seats are like new.
