Question

Im driving a loaner base clubman that was made in jan of 2012. My base coupe i believe was made in feb. my service advisor is telling me they have different engines which I think is incorrect. My car has an erratic idle after starting it and the clubman does not. The advisor is saying its because of a different oil pump on mine to prevent the carbon buildup which the base models never get anyway. Can anyone tell me for sure whether or not they have identical engines?

One other thing for people with 2012 manual transmissions. How bad does your clutch pedal click when you press it? Supposedly this is because of the hill assist that I'm guessing was not on last years cars. Mine clicks pretty badly, they changed slave cylinder and the clutch pedal and they tell me it still clicks.

There are two engines, the old n12 in the R56 justa ( <2011 non turbo), and the n14 turbo in the MCS <2011 and the current JCW. For the current my's the justa get the N16 and the MCS and all turbos get the N18. Period.

So your car has the N16, as does the Countryman.

My 2010 clutch pedal is quiet.
