I have been looking at upgrading the brakes. I am going to put on braided steel lines and EBC green pads. The quandry is which rotors to use. I am leaning toward Outmotoring.com's dimpled and slotted EBC rotors, but Helix has a nice looking pair of slotted rotors. The big thing for me is I want to do all four corners, not just the front as I want to maintain a balance in the car's braking ability. What do you guys think? Cross drilled is out. Had a conversation with RandyBMC, sonracer, and apexer and all 3 said there is an issue of drilled rotors cracking under stress. Not gonna go with M7's brake system, very nice system but I can't afford it. My budget for hardware on this mod is around $600.00 to $650.00. Input appreciated.

rafthos,

You stated my question exactly! I don't want the drilled and M7's look GREAT if I had the $$$ and raced it on the track and not just once in a while. I have decided to go with Randy at WMS and get the front and rear setup.

FYI: Tirerack has the EBC slotted/dimpled rotors for $150 a pair.

I have the EBC rotors on the front, and they seem to be the best bang for the buck so far. Cheapest price I found was on Tire Rack. The finish is good, no rust on the hub so far, the rotors are holding up well to a couple of autocross days plus spirited street driving. Overall I am happier with them than I expected from the low cost.

Alex, I see in another post that you have the powerslot rotors and you state you love 'em! Care to give us some insight on which rotors you consider the 'better' choice between the PowerSlots and the EBC rotors?
Thanks,
Jim

I prefer the Cad plating on the powerslot, its more my style.

The EBC's look cool, but I have found the large grooves and dimples to be a bit noisier than the conservative slotting of Powerslot.

just my .02

Hey you guys,

I'm having Brembo drilled rotors installed with Ebc Red stuff brake pads,
They will be installed next april 10 th along with a Pipercross open air flow filter and an xtra chiptuning
should come to a hartpounding 235 Hp with 270 nm torque and a top speed of 270 km/h.!!!!!!

somebody above has posted that he will change his back rotors also,

Please don't do that!!!!
The Mini rotors are already to powerfull for the back of the car so you know what will happen when you change the back rotors with new brake pads, your Mini will jump like a young pony when you hit the brakes hard!!
just keep it simple and cheap and only change the front of your brake system

That's all

Greetzzz Miniholland
