R50/53 Replacing window motor/regulator

Replacing window motor/regulator

Hello all, I'm replacing my passenger window regulator/motor. I removed all the panels n u screwed the motor, my window is stuck on the up position (closed) any tips to bring it down? I'm struggling to remove the window

If you can, try and reach for the bottom of the window motor (it has a silver metal housing), there are 4 screw securing it to the motor.

If you can, remove the screws (it should require a allen key wrench). Once done, you should be able to wind the motor down by hand, that should drop the window.

Make sure that wind down the window slowly.

From my experience that makes no sense.

When I did mine, with everything still put together and just the door panel removed, I was able to gently push the window down until I was able to access the two 5mm allen bolts to remove the glass.

If the window is jammed because you cannot operate the motor, some suggested that you may need to remove the motor wind (not sure how to explain the component that actually winds the window up and down within the silver housing).

Once you take that wind out, you can then manually pull down the window.



^ this is what I was referring to.
