I was out for a little motoring up on Mt Charleston today to escape the Vegas heat and have some fun time with my MINI. About halfway through the drive, I turned off the road and heard a metallic "thunk" that came from the back end of the car. I thought something metal had fallen off the bottom of the car and then I'd run it over. But, there was no sign of anything left behind. Then, I thought maybe a rock or something hit the bottom of the car on something metal. But, I didn't see anything coming up before the sound happened, nor did I see anything on the road afterwards. I can't explain what it was, but it scared the crap out of me. The rest of the drive proceeded with no problems, so I'm just chalking it up to a weird fluke. But, I thought I'd throw it up here just in case anyone could think of a better explanation.
