Swapping 5-Star Spooler to 6-Star Twin- TPMS issues?

I have an '09 R55 Cooper and a buddy of mine sold me a set of 16" 6-Star Twin MINI wheels and tires (Pic2) (with stock Bridgestone runflats). I bought these to replace the 5-Star Spooler's MINI wheels (Pic1) that came with my Cooper Clubman. My buddy took the wheels off of his R59 MINI Coupe S.

I went out to the garage this morning to swap the two sets of wheels but stopped myself when I saw the "air pressure stalks"(?) were different.

Can I directly swap these wheels without having to mess with the TPMS sensors? Does it even look like the TPMS sensors are on the wheels that came off of the Coupe (Pic2)?

I'd like to think that if they are MINI wheels they should swap no problem but wanted to be sure before I took a 800 mile trip this weekend.

The TPMS from 2009 and older model is not compatible with Sep. 2009 + production model. You will have to swap the TPMS or purchase the older version for your car. Or you can drive the car with the low pressure indicator display. Your car will not initialize the new wheels with the newer TPMS.

Can you tell by the pics if they are the newer/older ones??!?

Can they be swapped vs. being purchased?

I may just drive a little while and see what happens. I'll do this after my trip.

Depending on the production month of the '09 it will probably be the older version of sensors and they work on a different frequency. You will need to have the sensors swapped. I did this on my '09 MCS.

PS the stems look the same to me, they just have different caps on the valve stems.
