R127 5 Star Double Spoke wheels or NM Eng RSe07 wheels?
R127 5 Star Double Spoke wheels or NM Eng RSe07 wheels?
I'm getting my CMSA4 this week...I really wanted the sport package and the 18" 5 star double spoke wheels in anthracite, but there was nothing out there the way I wanted it, and due to time constraints, had to take what I can get. My car will have the 17" 5 star double spokes in black with A/S tires, which I'll use for 3 seasons, and want to get a set of 18's for the summer season. Question is, do I get the R127's, or the RSe07's? On the plus side for the NM's, I can get the RSe07's a LOT cheaper than the R127's, and I'll bet they are at least 5-6 lbs lighter on each corner. But I like the look of the R127's much more. Plus with the Light White color I am getting, would much prefer an anthracite color wheel over black, but i'll deal..
What do you think?

or

Also, as much as I would love to have 19's, the roads here will destroy them, so unfortunately 19" wheels are not an option for me...
This is what NYC roads did to me last year...and this was with 17's...

^ I think I really need to see the RSe07's on a Countryman to decide though...I see their stock pic on a Hardtop with them, but it's hard to compare that to how it would look on a Countryman.
The above stock photo shows a 4 lug wheel. The RSe07 AND RSe14 are both available as a 5 lug wheel for the R60. The RSe12, which is the 4 lug version of the RSe14, will fit the other MINI models.
Surely you don't think I'm THAT stupid to not know the difference between a 4 and 5 lug wheel and what cars can use what, especially in the images above of the R127 clearly showing a 5 lug and the RSe07's showing a 4 lug...

I much prefer the NM wheel you posted. I don't like two-town wheels as I think the machined edge makes the wheel look functionally smaller. It makes an 18 look like a 17 to my eye.
The little laser-etched "NM" is tight, too. I vote NM all the way between these choices.

Out of the two I also like the NM. The dealers around here must push the OEM 18" R127 wheel because just about every time I see a CM on the road it has those wheels. I like the R127 but I wouldn't want it just to be different. And like Hujan said, when the spokes extend all the way out to the edge of the rim (like they do on the RSe07) instead of stopping short and then having a lip, it visually makes the wheel look larger.
I entered the car info for the R60 on their website, and the RSe07 wheel comes up. However, the specs read this....

Those aren't the specs for the R60. So something is wrong on their website. Either they do have a version for the R60, and mistakenly listed the specs for the hardtop. Or, it doesn't fit the R60, and it mistakenly comes up in the search when it shouldn't. Maybe I'll email them and see what the real story is.

You must have called them at the same time as I just emailed them! Here is the email I just got...
Hi Greg,
Sorry, that was an error on our site. We currently do not have the application yet, but hopefully we will before the end of the year.

Do you like the TSW Interlagos from the other thread? If you want 18s those would be a great option; lightweight, good looking, and reasonably priced. On that chart that you posted, the size (18x8+35) looks good, the only thing to find out is if the centerbore is large enough... it needs to be 72.56mm or larger.
If you like those, here is the fitment shown below. The 8.5" wheel with 42 offset is what I have, and it fits fine even with the lowering springs. As you can see, the 8" wheel with 35 offset would leave you much more clearance on the inside, and the outer face of the wheel would only move out a half a millimeter, which is basically nothing.
