Interior/Exterior VIS racing carbon fiber vented bonnet
VIS racing carbon fiber vented bonnet
Has anyone got one of these?

I want one bad but I know the fit of the carbon fiber bonnets can be pretty hit and miss.

Looks good, and I like the vents... but I'd have to REALLY want or need it to spend that much money, and then hope it fits good enough, unless you planned to paint it anyway, then you could do body work on it and eventually get it right..
Way has one for sale. Doesn't have the vents but still a carbon hood.

^ don't want a normal bonnet...BORING lol!
I was after a Duell ag vented bonnet but they have no plans for doing them for the R53
So this brings me to the next question... How much work is it to get a carbon fibre bonnet to fit properly and look OEM

I assisted in fitting a VIS hood a few years ago. The fit was crap! The headlight openings were not the correct shape and had to be opened up, the latches had to be cut apart and re-worked, there were many holes not drilled. The part was a joke. It took about 4 hours to make it look good enough as the owner was not paying anything. I would say be prepared to pay AT LEAST 6 hours labor and materials to make it look OEM.

I've never tackled a carbon fiber aftermarket "OEM" part that didn't need this kind of attention unless it was a complete custom retrofit which implies custom retrofit work anyway.
The undrilled holes and extra material in places is there for the buyer's benefit to insure there is a proper fit when it's complete. being that all molds will not be the same and each part may vary in curing temperature or humidity or time of year depending on the quality of the shop, taking price into consideration here will dictate these consistencies. I would still buy this product as you've described but heed the warning "PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION HIGHLY RECOMENDED" because this is exactly what they imply requires professional modification to work properly!
