Suspension questions on my 06 mcs jcw???
Suspension questions on my 06 mcs jcw???
So i had my upper strut mounts replaced today and rear brakes were done and i wanted them to do a 4 wheel allignment but I ran in to some issues.
My questions are as follows...
I have an 06 MCS JCW in the book JCW shows to have a red spring and nice black struts with a JCW sticker on it...on my car i noticed i have black springs and some black struts with DELPHI sticker on it??? WTF anyone know anything about the JCW suspension and what I have on there.
Other issue was the front tie rod's both sides were completely seized at the nut and after torching it and doing all kinds of stupid things to it could not get it off so they could not adjust the TOE on the front of the car...i can deal with it for now because its slightly off nothing crazy but still i want to fix it... anyone know where i can get some tie rods for my 06 MCS JCW for a good price???
Any help would greatly be appreciated...

Even though 2006 was the first year for the factory built JCW, I'm pretty sure the suspension was optional. You most likely have sport suspension +, and someone in the know can decode those Delphi P/N's. But to my knowledge, all JCW springs are red.
As far as your tie rods, I haven't priced them out. But my first choice for parts is always imbmparts.com. They seem to be 25% off dealer list with most everything I look at.

Makes me want to upgrade the suspension even more now lol
Time to get new springs, lower control arms, sway bar, and some koni yellow adjustable shocks plus new tie rods hmmmmmm yup thats what im gonna do save the dollars and upgrade, but I still want to find out what ive got?
[QUOTE=davisflyer;3526953]The JCW suspension was a dealer add-on, even for JCW cars. A JCW shock/strut will have the logo on it and the springs will be red.
Do you know what suspension uses the DELPHI shocks and black springs is that a sport suspension or a standard Cooper S suspension?

The standard and sport suspension had black springs and both standard and sport shocks were manufactured by Delphi. For that matter, I believe the JCW shocks are also manufactured by Delphi.
