Very nice clean install. I especially like the remote unit install below the toggle switches. I mounted my V1 on the other side of the mirror so it does not obstruct my vision as much and my remote unit is mounted in front of the tach.
Cheers,
JD
PS how do you like the Escort Shifter ZR3 unit?

Very nicely done. Give us an update of the effectiveness of the ZR3 laser jammer, when you've had the opportunity to jam a few units.

Switched supply: green wire off the OBD II.
The ZR3 units have been quite effective on my colleagues cars ('02 911 TT, '01 M3).
They also have been shown to be the best by the limited number of tests I've read.

Noticed the V1 on the windshield on the driver's side. I found that the mirror blocks the rear facing detector, so I mounted it on the passenger side.
A bit of a pain to "silence it", but I can see the readout, and it does not block my vision at all.
That is one sanitary install! Beauitiful job. But it looks like you have the remote V1 AND the windshield mount? Maybe before and after?
Now running off the lighter, but I want to tap off a fuse so I don't pierce any wires with the kit. Someone said "position 36" is an ignition only fuse, but i dont see where the fuses are numbered on the box. Nor can I find an easy ground yet.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

The V-1 is using the windshield mount and remote display for optimal radar range. The mount is situated in a way to not be blocked by the mirror, yet when it is installed on the drivers side, the angle of the display is correct should I decide to deactivate the remote portion. With the current location, the laser sensor is closest to center -- again, not to be obstructed by passengers in the rear of the vehicle. The position shown in the photos is a little non-optimal -- I'd like to see it a few cm closer to the top of the window to hide the unit.

If you are going to use the remote, I saw a pretty good thread a while back with someone mounting the V! on the parcel shelf with velcro. Gets a ag ood looka nd is less noticeable.
Where did you ground it?
As for me, I have been pulled over twice with the detector in full view and got "warnings', so a detector does NOT automatically **** off cops.
It hepls that I am older, I think!
