Reliability of auto vs manual

SO I am in the market for a 2008/2009/maybe 2010 Clubman S, and most of what I see are auto tranny cars. I have been predisposed to manual transmissions for MINIs.

I am not a road burner, but I do want reliability, and do occasional spirited driving ( I assume I'll do more in a MINI, hah hah hah ).

Need I fear an automatic equipped Clubby? If not, it would increase the number of possible candidates for My New Car.

Thanks-

No there is no reason to worry about it. Both the auto and manual transmissions are bullet proof. The clutch is a little weak but, that is about it.
