Delivery Acceptance Checklist

Anyone have suggestions regarding what to check on the vehicle before accepting it for delivery...such as paint imperfections, damage to the exterior/interior, missing things like owners manuals, jack, nav system DVD, etc? Does the NAV system come with a CD.

don't think there is a NAV cd. But the dealer needs to input a code for it to work. Ask for the code so you have a record.

Biggest thing is the paint. Personally I'd prefer the dealer never touch the car period, but for those that aren't into detailing themselves, the dealer will do an initial wash and wax. That swirled the hell out of the paint and got wax on the trim for me.

You should have a jack in the back, a tow hook under the passenger front seat.

Rail accessories include cup holders, sunglass case, phone holder and IIRC an ash tray for the cup holder.

Make sure the right cable for connected is in there, one work for video, one doesn't. Mine had the wrong cable.

I believe I also got a bottle of car wash and interior cleaner, but that might have come in the mail, can't remember now.

I didn't get wash or cleaner, but check that floor mats are included because you paid for them. Have them activate sat radio and make sure you login and set your own password. You get 2 keys, try them both. Have fun!

What is a CD?

The new MINIs are supposed to have a solid state (i.e. flash memory) storage for Navi. No disks.

Make sure you get the iPod interface cable and maybe the cargo net in the boot.

I asked to NOT have my front bumper drilled for the plate. (although NY requires it) I will install either a tow hook mount plate or a ;hideaway' type.
