JCW JCW Aero Kit Out Of Stock at the port?
JCW Aero Kit Out Of Stock at the port?
So I ordered the aero kit to be installed at port when my car arrived. Well it's at the port and the dealer called me today and said the JCW aero kit is out of stock throughout the country and will just install it at the dealer when it becomes available. Does this sound right, will it be as good as doing it at the port?

There is a big communication disconnect between the MAs and the Reps with the Clubman JCWs and what kits are getting installed - hopefully your Convertible S gets done right. If you placed the order all at once, the 4- yr/50,000 mile warranty should apply to the kit too.
Shoot!!! Mine is supposed to get an aero kit as well and it's slated to leave England on May 24!!
This may be a stupid question, but what does it mean when they install it at the port? Like the port where the boats dock? Don't they install those at the factory?

I didn't want a standard (I know, I know, but I live in LA) so to get the aero kit with an auto it's a port install. Wish they didn't tell me this so close to getting delivery (which should be sometime this week), it's a little disappointing.
that's interesting that they install it at the port, seems a little inefficient if they could've just done it at the factory before it left, then the problem of not having it wouldn't even be a problem
The JCW Package is a much better deal for the price. When the JCW aero kit is ordered separately, on top of the kit itself you must also pay for painting and installation (typically cheaper at the port than at the dealer).
From MotoringFile:
"The MINI John Cooper Works races from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 seconds (automatic: 6.7 sec) on the way to a top speed of 238 km/h / 148 mph (236 km/h / 147 mph). Average fuel consumption stands at 6.6 litres per 100 kilometres / 42.8 mpg (automatic: 7.1 l/100 km / 39.8 mpg) and CO2 emissions come in at 153 grams (165 g) per kilometer."
