JCW Aero Kit Out Of Stock at the port?

So I ordered the aero kit to be installed at port when my car arrived. Well it's at the port and the dealer called me today and said the JCW aero kit is out of stock throughout the country and will just install it at the dealer when it becomes available. Does this sound right, will it be as good as doing it at the port?

Supposedly the "Aero Kit" is installed at the factory (not sure what this will look like on the Convertible) and the "JCW Aero Kit" is a dealer accessory". Doc attached is what is currently on their site.
There is a big communication disconnect between the MAs and the Reps with the Clubman JCWs and what kits are getting installed - hopefully your Convertible S gets done right. If you placed the order all at once, the 4- yr/50,000 mile warranty should apply to the kit too.

Shoot!!! Mine is supposed to get an aero kit as well and it's slated to leave England on May 24!!

This may be a stupid question, but what does it mean when they install it at the port? Like the port where the boats dock? Don't they install those at the factory?

I didn't want a standard (I know, I know, but I live in LA) so to get the aero kit with an auto it's a port install. Wish they didn't tell me this so close to getting delivery (which should be sometime this week), it's a little disappointing.

that's interesting that they install it at the port, seems a little inefficient if they could've just done it at the factory before it left, then the problem of not having it wouldn't even be a problem

If you order the $2000 John Cooper Works Package (includes JCW aero kit, Challenge Wheels, red stitched steering wheel, and some other items), then it is installed at the factory. If you order the JCW aero kit a la carte (not part of the package), it is an aftersales accessory that is installed at the port or dealer.

The JCW Package is a much better deal for the price. When the JCW aero kit is ordered separately, on top of the kit itself you must also pay for painting and installation (typically cheaper at the port than at the dealer).

If you wait 3 more months you can order a factory JCW MINI in an automatic. There was an article on it at Mororingfile.com, and the new JCW motor in it will get 39.8mpg highway for an automatic according to the article! That is far superior to what you would get in an MCS, and with gas as high as it is in Cali, maybe you can reorder and get the real deal:

From MotoringFile:
"The MINI John Cooper Works races from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.5 seconds (automatic: 6.7 sec) on the way to a top speed of 238 km/h / 148 mph (236 km/h / 147 mph). Average fuel consumption stands at 6.6 litres per 100 kilometres / 42.8 mpg (automatic: 7.1 l/100 km / 39.8 mpg) and CO2 emissions come in at 153 grams (165 g) per kilometer."

The dealer is going to to honor the port price. I wanted the premium package and that couldn't be ordered with the jcw package. Can't remember the reasoning now.
