well in az it's starting to heat up, so it's back to using the A/C again... and well the lag is back however it's not as bad as before, but there is a severe power loss from 0-60. Also shifting after 3000rpm's brings the mini to a lagging acceleration, where before shifting just above 3000 was ok, and it would climb right back up after shifting gears.

Andbody else using there a/c yet??

And mini if you read this. We will be contacting you, time for a lemon law lawsuit

Edit: made the paragraph a little more clear

Added heat from anywhere is really never good for cars. Heat being drawn inside from the outside, plus heat being created from the engine, plus running the a/c is going to cause power loss. That'll multiply with the more the heat goes up both inside the engine bay and the outside temp. It may not be a fault of the car itself. But than again, it may. Never hurts to have her checked out.
Cheers,

Zero problems here. I have V36 installed in both of my MINIs (CVT and MCS) and haven't had a lick of trouble with our already summer like tempreratures and high humidity. Here in Miami temps have been in the mid to upper 80's and the car have been absolutely fantastic when running with the A/C at full blast...no idle problems, no stumbles, no loss of power, etc, etc, just smooth operation.

You have a problem. have the dealer re-load V36 or better yet demand a new ECU unit from New Jersey.

Like I said, I haven't had any issues with our blistering swap heat.

What is this about shifting before 3000 RPMs??? You can't shift these cars before 3000RPMs! Unmodified, there's no torque down there!!!

Not before 3000rpm's just over 3000, with the A/C off, we could shift i would 3200-3400, and it would still accelerate great (unless your going up hill)

We had the ECU shipped to NJ to be updated when v36 came out, because we were one of the first to complain about it.

We are going to make an appointment and see what happens

FYI. I had the ECU shipped to NJ to have V.36 installed and there was no difference. V.36 was also flashed 5 - 6 times locally and no change in drivability. However, it was flashed one more time and drivability improved. When a MINI USA rep was queried on this, his response was that the flash may not have taken, or was done improperly. I do not have the RO for the last flash, so I do not know what version was flashed on the car. For all I know, it may not even be V.36 and they reverted to older versions.

I have a CVT Feb 03 build. I had the beta version of v36 installed in Oct. because I stalled once again (had the previous software fix for the same reason). I was assured this was IT the big fix for the problems. Well it seems I am on a 4 month cycle, because I manage to drive 4 months and then stall again (as I did today). So now my dealer is saying he hasn't heard anyone with v36 having anymore stalling problems. Am I the first? Was the beta version bad? UGH. Time to make the lengthy trip to the dealer AGAIN. At least I get to get the oil change over with at the same time.

Anyone have any links to CVT v36 issues? I have surfed around a bit and saw some mention of beta issues but no major conversations around the stalling CVT issue.

I love my car, but I don't want it to stall every 4 months for ever and ever and ever...
