Swapping brake pads for track duty question

I just got my EBC yellows for track duty but not sure if I need to do anything in particular before swapping them. I plan to only use them for track and swap back to OEM afterwards each time. Does this mean I have to keep purchasing a new set of brake sensors each time i do the swap? Or is it just a simple swap of the pads and plug the current brake sensor back in afterwards?

edit: oh yeah, it's a '11 R56 if that matters

Another solution is to cut the sensors off, close the circuit by connecting the wires, and call it a day. If you're on top of what condition your pads are in, there is no need for sensors.

If your brake wear sensor is still in tact (not showing a warning on the dash) then there is no need to cut it an splice the wires together. Just tie it up away from any moving parts that could snag it or wear through it.

+1.

And with the new pads, just make sure you properly bed the new pads in beforehand.

NintenTom - Have you used the Yellow stuff pads on the track yet?
How'd you like them?

Went to Sonoma raceway this past Saturday and honestly I thought the modulation could have been better (i like a pad that has a big bite on first contact). It seemed like it lost its street bite when the pads got warmed up. Compared with OEM pads, they're good in that they didn't start fading until my 3rd session (versus 2nd on OEM) and it hit 104F in my car so it was pretty toasty. Oh yeah, make sure you clean your wheels often if you plan to DD these. After a week of street use plus my track day, my green wheels turned just about black from the brake dust.

I was wishfull for a little better performance than that out of them. I am used to Carbotech XP 10s but lost my source and was hoping I could find something a little less expensive.

Are you looking at some other pad for the future?

Since I'm only using the yellows on track (i'm swapping them out/in from OEM), I don't plan to purchase any new pads in the near future considering i only do a couple track days a year (4-5 tops). But I definitely considered the Carbotech XP 10s before jumping ship on the EBC yellows. I wish PFC or Axxis made pads for our car; if they did, I'd definitely get a set from either of those companies since I loved them on my E46.
