Need a favor from first gen owner in Phoenix.

My wife and I lost our 2004 MCS in 2008 to a rear end collision, and replaced it with a 2008 MCS. Last year I convinced my wife to replace the now T-Boned 08 with a rather special BMW 1 series.

She misses her MINI.

We are looking at a rather spur of the moment decision to travel and drive home a first gen 06 mini. The problem is that it has been a few years since my wife has driven one, and I want to make sure she is still comfortable in one. We are in central Phoenix, but would head to any corner of town if somebody would be willing to let her re familiarize herself with the car.

I know this is an odd request, but these cars have some quirks that I want to make sure she can get used to before diving head first into the MINI we wanted in the first place.

If any member is willing to lend us a few minutes of their time, just send me a PM and we can set something up.

thanks
Gregg

They are mostly a friendly bunch... LOL

FYI - they will be meeting at MINI of Tempe this Sunday 5-6-12 from 10am to Noon for cars & coffee. There are always some 1st gen MINI's that show up. I am sure someone would let you check theirs out. Feel free to stop by.

Or just find a local 1st gen MINI for sale at a local dealership. Nothing wrong with taking a spin even if you do not intend to specifically buy what they are selling. If the test drive is a bust then tell them thanks but no thanks. If they do not have what you want then leave information about what you are looking for and move on. Should not be too difficult to find one locally to drive.

Dynamic MINI Collective also meets up at PAVS in Scottsdale every 3rd Saturday. My husband and I may be there, since we're planning a stay-cation at the casino nearby. I think finding one at a dealer would be a good idea. They're everywhere!
