Rear spoiler

Is there a way to turn the spoiler completely off? I drive in LA traffic every day constantly between 20 and 50 MPH, and I'm worried the spoiler will be going up and down for 45 minutes everyday.

I also wonder about turning I off .....come winter. I can see driving and the rear spoiler covered in snow or ice .....burning out the motor or blowing fuses trying to lift .
I will have to check into that.

I have the Coupe but same same as far as spoiler goes. No way to run it off to my knowledge. There may be a fuse to do so but I have not looked.

Snow and ice this past winter was no problem for my car. We had a wicked snow and ice storm this past winter and it did not affect the spoiler operation whatsoever. I don't think you have to worry about that. Thats not to say if your car was in the weather and had a LARGE amount of snow and ice on it that it would not affect the operation but I liken that to the windshield. If your windshield needs extensive cleaning then you might knock off the big stuff on the spoiler at the same time.

Also, off topic, but in the Roadster and Coupe (as well as Cabrio) you lose the one touch window up feature? I loved that about my 2010 R56 and I'm a little peeved finding out they disable it for these models.

Would really like to find an OFF feature for the spoiler. I watched the spoiler video for the coupe and it looks like you can override it in the ON position, but I'd like it to never go up unless I really want it to. But I guess that's why they call it an ACTIVE spolier.

One-touch up is definitely off for the Roadster, probably because they can't reliably do the pinch detection.

Anyone know if there's a module available yet for auto-up? R53's didn't have auto up, but I enabled it with a module. Likewise my wife's R56's sunroof didn't have one-touch full open or close....that too I fixed with a module.

There's also a module to auto turn on Sport mode on startup and even to disable traction control on startup....SO....I think it's just a matter of enough people asking for it.

http://www.fes-auto.com/productsmodules.php

So, anyone know?

There must be an official way to disable to the spoiler for when they install the static Coupe/Roadster JCW spoiler?

If you find an unofficial way to do it you may find you can't turn off DSC/DTC above 50mph as the car does this as a safety feature in the event of spoiler malfunction. Probably only a problem if you track your car..

I see a number of pics in the Coupe threads with a JCW Wing that I really like. Does anyone know if that is a fixed spoiler, and more importantly, available for the Roadster? If so, installation could include disabling the spoiler. Off to research.....

The pictures I have seen, almost look like the spoiler is removed altogether.

I read somewhere that said the active spoiler still is there and works underneath the fixed spoiler.....just can't find the link. :-( So maybe I made it up, haha.
