R59 Ship assignment
Ship assignment
For the life of me I couldn't find the link that you put your VIN in to see if your car has been assigned a ship. The one where you place it in the cargo ID box. Anyone recall where this is?

If your MINI is on the W & W Line, this should work:
https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...ckSearchResult

That is the wrong URL. That is the "results" page. There is no "track" button on that page. Try this one:
https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage
or, go to the home page for WW the under "Customer Tools" select "track and trace". Now you should have a couple of boxes. Put the VIN in the Cargo ID field and click the trace button. If you are lucky and get results back click on the "Voyage Number" which should be a link in red. You will more information.
Mine was loaded on the ship this morning. Apparently it is still in port as of the time of this note.

Keep trying, it's Easter and the docks are probably closed. You'll probably show up tomorrow. Once the O.L. indicated I was awaiting transport, mine showed up late in the day (a thursday) on the WW website. Good luck!

[FONT=Arial][SIZE=2]Mine was apparently loaded this morning by looking at the information. Also the one site now shows it has set sail but I don't see that other tracking site yet.
By the way, the Owners Lounge web site is useless other than to get your production number and VIN. Call the 1-866-ASK-MINI phone number. Speak your production number and follow the voice prompts. That tells you much more information. For example, the O.L site only told me mine was "scheduled for production". Calling the ASK MINI number gave me updates as it went thought he plant. Body shop, released for transport (the train ride down to South Hampton), etc.
If you manage to get on a WW ship there are other very useful sites with information on what the ship is doing. You will need the ship name from the WW site referenced in the other post.
The WW line sends weather information and position which you can track on http://www.sailwx.info/
Click on "Ship Tracker" in the top menu (black)
Select "Find by ship name" and enter the ship name
Find the most recent entry for the ship name in the table that appears
Now you get a map that shows where the ship is now and where it has been for the past 240 hours. Reduce the track history to 24 hours or as desired. Click update. You can zoom in on the map. Lower on the page note the tracking information and weather information. Looks like it is updated between 1 and 4 hours.
Mine is due in Baltimore on April 16.

We are on the same ship.
Glad you figured it out!
My MINI was delivered in February of this year, and I'm still following the ship that delivered it to Baltimore. The Tonsberg has since past through the Panama Canal, travelled to Polynesia, Australia, Japan, Korea, and is now headed back towards the States. Her itinerary shows that she'll eventually pass through Southampton, presumably to pick-up some more MINI's.

FYI, if you're car is put on a ship on the K-Line, you'll never really know what ship it's on...that URL will only tell you if you're on the WW line. My wife's MINI came through the K-Line....mine was the WW.
Telegraph-
Thanks again for posting the ship tracking link! I get up this am to see that the Taiko has departed SouthHampton and is out in the English Channel. This is very cool to watch...bon voyage!

The last update on SailWX.Info was 01:33 UTC but on marinetraffic.com I am seeing more recent updates. Looks to be leaving the English Channel and entering the Celtic Sea. At that point marinetraffic.com tacking will stop until the ship gets near the US coastline. SailWX.Info should continue tracking the Taiko. Don't know why it would have stopped at 01:33.
Thanks Mike. Still no luck as of today. Ask Mini says at port waiting on a ship. OL says it is still in transit to the port. I stopped calling live people, as the last person I spoke to says they really have no use after your car clears production. IMO, the live person served no purpose other than to frustrate with "I'm sorry I have no information for you". I agree with you. Ask Mini seems to be the first to update with new info. My MA is hit or miss but Im sure he gets new car owners calling all day.
I hope to be floating by the end of the week.

Sorry to hear you are not getting any information. As you have also found the Ask Mini phone number is more useful but is blind to what goes on after the car leaves the plant. I was lucky to get on one of the ships in the WW line as their search feature, using the VIN number, gave me the ship information. Without the shippers search feature I would think mine is still sitting on the dock in South Hampton. I wonder if Ask Mini will will be able pickup the status again once it gets off the ship in the USA?
I am still not getting any data from SailWX.Info. Looking at past history they have done a very good job at tracking the ship prior to its arrival in South Hampton. Looks like something is broken now.
Got some bad news from my dealer today. I have not heard anything out of my MA since just after the order was placed. Called down there a couple of times and left voice mail and sent emails, but no response. Found out today she has left the dealership. So I now have another MA that knows nothing about my order. I called today to see if they could tell me the time from when the car gets to the dock on our side until it is ready for customer pickup. She told me two weeks maximum from the time it hits the dock in Baltimore until it arrives at the dealership. She also said they are not notified about the shipment until it is on the truck heading to the dealer. Based on that news I expect I am on my own via ASK MINI to find out exactly when but in any case I should have mine by the end of April.

Sorry to hear you lost your MA. Not a good feeling I'm sure. I got a response from my MA today telling me that it will take 6-7 days from the Baltimore port to my dealer in Chicago. It's not exact because they wait for the carrier(truck) to be filled. That might be a day sooner for you in Dayton. Hope this helps you plan. Now, if we could only get the Taiko to report in.....

Yes, I am in Dayton, Ohio, and going through Cincinnati Mini. We don't have a Mini dealer in Dayton so it is Columbus or Cincinnati. Cincinnati is closer to me. I think when she told me a maximum of two weeks she was being conservative. So a week sounds more typical then. I lucked out on the ship as it ended up on the WW line. I was able to put in the VIN and that told me what ship it was on. If you get the other shipping company you are out of luck. Unfortunately the captain must have turned off the SailWX system so I am not getting tracking data from the website as it comes across the pond. I will start watching the other ship tracking system as it gets closer to the expected arrival date. That will start showing data as it gets near the US coastline.
It will be interesting to see when the dealer calls me next about the order.

Spoke with my MA today. Just sitting at the docks waiting for a ride. All things considered,it has only been less than 3 weeks since I placed my order. I was told the trip to So CA will be about three weeks, dealer the week after including prep. Should be right after vacation, second week in May. Still doesn't seem real.
